Graeme Milligan

Professor of Biochemistry University of Glasgow

I am Gardiner Professor of Biochemistry at University of Glasgow where I have been based for almost 40 years. I study G protein-coupled receptors and their interacting proteins with a particular emphasis on receptors that function at the interface of metabolism and inflammation. I have publishged more than 600 papers on these topics. With long term interactions with both the international biopharmaceutical industry and smaller start up companies I was awarded the Royal Society Mullard Award 2022 for ‘Global leadership in pharmacological and translational studies, his successful ‘spinning-out’ of academic research and his long-standing underpinning support for the bio-pharmaceutical industry’.
